IMO people were scared that a vote for Labour would be a vote to get the SNP into power so they went for the safe option of the Torys. Hell would you like the SNP to have an influence on how the government ran our country?

That is also a good enough reason to vote for the Torys for some. I wouldn't have been too disappointed if Labour got in but imo the best result of this whole election is that UKIP wont have any influence and that enough people have seen through their inherently racist mantra.

100% agree. For me the leader of a party is everything. I don't vote labour but if they got in with say, Alan Johnson at the helm then could live with that.

The election of Ed effectively ended Labours chances, they just chose to ignore the obvious for 5 years. Had David been elected I suspect he would be picking out new curtains tomorrow.

I would like to see Chuka Umunna get the job now. He has consistently impressed since joining Parliament in 2010.

Alan Johnson is certainly more of a sincere man than Milliband could ever be that's for sure.
I would not trust Milliband as far as I could shoot him out of a fifty foot cannon, plus the thought of him colluding with Nicola Sturgeon of the SNP would be enough to scare the hell out of most sensible English people I would imaging.

What's the problem with the SNP having a say in the BRITISH parliament. It's a national election. The Scots have never elected a Tory government but had to suffer their nonsense over 300 years. Didn't hear any complaints from the ' English' MPs then.

Now the Scots don't vote for the traditional parties they want rid of them. Democracy pah! Do any of you know any SNP policies......thought so.

The Labour party is f#cked. Took its money under Blair then set its foreign policy with Bush. Finished as a credible party of the working classes.
