Quote HINDERWOOD="HINDERWOOD"Back of the Sun paper today in a really small article :
'Hull KR to offer Wakefield the choice of four players; Lovegrove, Hall, Caro and Tuimavave in exchange for Ben Cockayne'
Personally would be happy with offloading Caro but can't see much benefit from losing Hall or Lovegrove (not particulalry bothered either way with Tuimavave).
Excluding that the Sun is usually full of rubbish - Thoughts?'"
Looking at a purely rugby pov - one of the pros to bringing back Cockayne would be his versatility value in a (possibly) smaller squad. Offering Lovegrove or Hall in exchange would kind of cancel that out.
I can't see why Wakefield would find the offer of Caro hugely enticing. And ET - if they wanted a non-fed prop, I'm sure they could find one of their own choosing without having to 'sell'.
Hard to judge how serious our pursuit of him really is, though there's clearly something in it.
More generally, whether it is coach-led or board-led, I really don't see the appeal, and if it does happen I'll be curious as to how it'd be presented. There are one or two awkward questions that'd arise immediately. I just hope the HDM are simply riding it hard for the prospect of some easy news and the Sun is, as so often, full of rubbish.
