Wasn't it Potter who blamed the rain in part for us beating them on Good Friday, or was that another bitter coach back at the start of the season?

they water the pitch quite considerably anyway compared to most clubs for a league game. i remember thinking every year that it spoils the spectacle a bit as the handling is never quite up to normal levels.

it is only a matter of time before the watered pitch, coupled with the steep drop off immediately after the in-goal line, is going to result in a serious injury to someone chasing a kick.

the lads where practising yesterday with dropping the ball in a bucket of water and putting the ball through quick hands with a soaked ball. First time I've ever seen a drill like that before but I suppose it makes sense. If you can catch the ball when it is soaking you can catch the ball when it is dry.

you would have noticed that the players would have dropped it more when it was wet rather than when it was dry
