I feel it should be donated to the people of Leigh to enjoy as they did whilst it was on display in the Leigh Arms.
Not sure how it ended up in the possession of the landlord of The Avenue as I never frequent that establishment. I would be interested in his answer.
However as for donating it to the club, I would agree if they gave assurances as to where it could be displayed?
As anyone ever been in the legends bar recently? Not an inkling of Leigh ever having had any legends of the game. No Jimmy Ledgard, No Joe Egan, No Mick Martyn, No Trevor Allan, No AJM, No Woods, No Drummond.
It's no good urging someone to donate such an important piece of memorabillia to the club only for it to end up covered in dust stuffed behind a ticket office cupboard.
