Thanks for asking....all well in wellington Region.
It is hard to convey exactly how much of a disaster this is.....I used to look at Earthquakes and other natural disasters from the UK with interest.....but we felt this shake 190 miles away.....and you have to feel for the people of Christchurch.....they had 4,800+ aftershocks after the September Quake...this will go on for at least another year so and I would suspect there will be many relocations as a result of this second hit.
Have to say, the Civil defence here have handled this brilliantly.......and also, in a RL related comment, Manly Sea Eagles who are due here for a trial match this weekend are looking at using it as a fundraiser (the power of twitter!)

Glad you are ok Gutters, I was thinking of you and Kate, couldn't remember which Island you were located on but was praying you weren't near Christchurch. The Civil Defense teams seem to be doing great work, I saw on the BBC this morning that they got a lady out alive from the wreckage after 24 hours.
