| Quote Abe Froman="Abe Froman"Come on Abe give us a clue, what's he done? (quote button not working)
Nothing. It was a joke tweet aimed at a few people who knew about Vaughan being thrown in the back of a Police van outside the stadium on Friday.
On a serious note, recruitment meetings etc have already started happening for 2026 and onwards. A few names being mentioned, one English prop in particular is being targeted to replace Vaughan/Musgrove. Please don't DM me about it, I can't tell you.
Have a great Christmas folks !!!'"
Liam Byrne anyone ?

| Yes I think Currie could use the club trained marquee dispensation of £50K, perhaps Walker too if he got 3 seasons in before U21 qualification ended.

| Unless we can bring in a very good replacement, I'd keep King and have him on the right and Lindop on the left. I'd be ok keeping Tai and Wrench as back up. I'd love a new strike centre to play alongside Lindop, but we have to focus our cap space where it is needed
Similar with Thewlis, I think we could probably do better on the wing, but Let's focus cap space where we need it.
Vaughan I'd keep if there were no better options, Musgrove I think should go - I'd like a wrecking ball, but it doesn't seem Burgess' style.
Crowther I can't see why we'd keep him and not an academy player, keeping him would just remind me of Minikin now in terms of blocking development for no reason.
Back row is absolute top priority for me.
I'd be letting go: Ratchford, Musgrove, Crowther as well as Russell and Leyland if we can get them off cap.
I'd be keeping Vaughan, Tai, Wrench and Powell - I doubt we could get better for the price and I'm not aware of a young player at 9 we have confidence in ready to step up in the immediate term.
I'd be signing the best Back Rower we can find, and a prop that can help us dominate.

If the quota dispensation does come in, it would make Signing Satae even better as he would be one of the players coming off the quota. But Burgess might not be interested in him anyway so might just be all wishful thinking. And to be fair i've barely watched any Catalans games this year or last, so i don't know if he's still as good and effective as he used to be?? Just out of interest who does everyone think will definately go next year? Musgrove is improving so may be re-signed, just hope it's not an improvement as he's trying to get a new contract, and i'm unsure on Tai. Although he isn't the best with his attack he's still a good centre, if Burgess is set on Lindop long term he might let him go, but he might keep him another year to help Lindop develop more and not burn him out too soon? And Dan Russell, i think unless a class second rower becomes available i think he will still be here next year, although i hope Holroyd is earmarked long term. He's still young and will develop a bit more size through the years to help him prolong his playing career. And Oli Leyland, it seem Burgess has no confidence in him at all, so who knows. I also think unless Wrench bursts back on the scene and is undroppable, and gets a long run of games i don't think we'll re-sign him. And i think King warrants re-signing, but odd that we haven't already.
Russell has a 2 year deal 2025 and 2026 unless a loan deal / transfer is arranged. Leyland has a 2 year deal 2025 and 2026 unless a loan deal / transfer is arranged. Johnson has a 2 year deal 2025 and 2026 unless a loan deal / transfer is arranged. King - re-sign as he costs peanuts on the cap and to replace him would cost a lot more. But we need a strike centre on the other side if going this way. King + Tai is too limited. Vaughan - re-sign. Our best prop. We dip when he goes off, and rise when he comes on. Musgrove - has improved, could be motivated by new contract, who knows. I hope the club are looking to see if there are more effective quota alternatives before re-signing. Tai - likeable player, probably our one player that openly revels in hitting hard in the tackles. But he is very limited in his attacking play and nullifies his winger usually by running diagonally to the touchline, cutting back in and being tackled. Valuable quota place. Wrench - said it before, surely he has to show this season that all the potential has a chance of becoming reality. Made his debut 5 years ago and managed 37 games for us in those 5 years (+3 on loan). He'll be 24 at the end of the season approaching halfway in his career, not like he is 19. Crowther - we can definitely improve in this position. He's been poor this year. Ratchford - who knows what will happen/has happened. Defies logic. Sam Powell - a decent signing and done well for us, but I think age is catching up now. The thing is, I would be OK with all of the above leaving, with the exception of Vaughan. Says a lot. Can't argue with any of this at all I see a super league club has offered Mat Croker a big offer for next year, i wonder if it's us? Big guy but not seen much of him at all, and he hasn't managed an appearance for the Knights this year after signing a 1 year deal to stay over there.
