im hearing noises about a potential move to the NRL after the 2013 season with Hock, anybody else heard anything??

Regardless of Faz going round again or not (I’m sure he will) we need a second row to offer support so both he and Nsemba don’t have to play full 80 minutes week in week out. 


Isa looked set for that role this year but that obviously never happened. 


I think despite Eseh coming back we could do with a prop, maybe a project type player. I’d like to see us looking for a more dynamic prop with footwork. With the additional cap spaces we can afford to carry a couple of overseas project type players and the Queensland Cup etc has is an excellent hunting ground for that style of prop. 

Yep, Isa big loss this season, even though he wouldnt have been starting. i think the plan would be to provide cover for both Faz and Junior, and worst case at centre

with Eseh coming back, we are still decent on numbers, but apart from Mago, they are all very similar (Thompson, Havard, Walters can all play big minutes, Dupree been better in recent weeks playing more minutes) and we also have Ellis who could revert back to prop if needed. However, i agree another prop with a different skillset would be nice, but 2nd row has to be our priority for recruitment

I wonder if Hirst will provide that extra option in the 2nd row. Presumably Chan won't.

Matty Peet has said Sam Eseh will be at Wigan next season.
I do think Hirst will be at Wigan too.
A full pre season could see us have two very players next year.

I just think we need a second rower. Maybe a Kaide Ellis style fringe NRL player, who is young enough to be happy backing up Faz and Nsemba but good enough to apply some pressure to them. 


Outside of that, I think we're ok. Get Eseh back in to the squad and guys like him and Makin can back up the frontline props. If a second rower was brought in and played on the bench, you would only need 4 frontline props in the squad, so somebody like Dupree would likely act as back up as well. 


If we didn't bring in a second rower, you'd use Walters as back up and then I think we need to move for a prop instead. Basically we need to sign one forward IMO (On top of Vaughan and Sambou).
