I don’t think the issue is they have gone to Salford for match practice, the issue is that Lumb should have been starting for Leeds on Thursday. I don’t know if you watched the game at Leigh, but it wasn’t Sivo that made a Lazarus style recovery to keep Lumb out of the team, it was a player called Chris Hankinson, a 31 year old that has spent most of his career at clubs like Barrow, Swindon, London, Toulouse, Featherstone etc. Therein lies the issue, with 7 games to go our top scorer and one of our most consistent performers was overlooked for Mr Hankinson. A shocker from Brad Arthur which ever way you look at it.

In the world I currently live in Riley Lumb has overall been a good finisher of tries bar one poor finish, he’s been one of our best players under a high ball along with Lachie Miller, he’s made plenty of carries out of defence when he’s played, and he’s been far, far better with his handling than our other winger Ryan Hall. He’s also been a decent tackler considering his limited experience. I’m not a statto and won’t be trawling back through the stats but wouldn’t question the consistency of the lads performances compared with a few more senior players.

The world in which you wear rose tinted glasses more like. Far better handling? 11 errors in his last 6 games, and 21 errors in 15 games. Hall with 13 errors in 19 games. Alfie has 4 errors in 7 games. He's a great prospect but he definitely has stuff to improve on. Anyway, Arthur is the one who has rested him for now, and I'm happy to leave that decision to him. Hope he has a good game for Salford this afternoon
